Building and storage

A small, claimed, organised base beats a palace with zero gym badges. Build for progress first — pretty later.

Contents

    Minimum viable base

    • Bed (set respawn) + torches
    • Claimed chests / backpack dump
    • Crafting table + furnace (anvil later)
    • Waystone inside the claim
    • Apricorn corner + tiny wheat patch
    • Room to expand pastures / sorting later
FTB Chunks claim map over a base
Claim the base. Storage means nothing if it isn’t claimed — Claims.

    Day-one layout

    1. Pick a spot near spawn or a village you like — not 10k blocks away on hour one.
    2. Place bed → claim the chunk(s) → dump starter kit into labelled chests.
    3. Activate / place a waystone next to the bed.
    4. Plant apricorns + wheat before the first long Brock hike.

    Storage tips

    • Label chests early: Balls / Heals / Ores / Maps / Food / Misc.
    • Road kit stays in the backpack: balls, food, pickaxe, map, potions.
    • PC boxes for coverage teams — /pcHealing & storage.
    • Sophisticated Storage / Tom’s Storage are in the pack for later sorting — learn them after Brock / Misty, not instead of badges.

    Expand without chaos

    • Expand the claim before the build footprint grows.
    • Keep farms and pastures inside the same claim as the bed.
    • One “dump chest” is fine for 20 minutes — not for a week.
    • Pretty roofs can wait until Valerio; a lit, claimed box cannot.

    Common mistakes

    • Palace first, claim never.
    • Waystone outside the claim.
    • Every item in one mega-chest forever.
